Ehe ich zu besserem Schreiben komme, will ich Ihnen für Ihre Briefe u. die Zusendung des Manuskripts danken, 1 das wieder zu haben mir sehr wertvoll ist. ‒ Was ich im Klavierunterricht bei Anfängern treibe, geht seither erheblich über das dort Gesagte hinaus. 2

Before I get to writing more properly, I want to thank you for your letters and the sending of the manuscript, 1 which is very useful for me to have again. ‒ What I have been doing in piano instruction with beginners since that time goes considerably beyond what is said there. 2
