Sehr geehrter Herr Direktor!
Ich
1
bin schon wieder genötigt, auf meine Rechnung das Buch über
die „IX“ einem Musiker zu widmen. Der Adressät heißt:
Bernhard Seidmann
, Kapellmeister a/ Landestheater in
Braunschweig
(
Deutschland
). Wollen Sie die Güte haben, das Buch versenden zu lassen, u. mir hierüber einen
Erlagschein (jenseits von „MK“ u.s.w. u.s.w., wie in den
früheren Fällen) zu senden.
2
Vielen Dank u. beste Wünsche für Weihnacht u. Neujahr.
[The entire message is crossed through diagonally; in
the left margin appear "3499" (the UE number of "Beethovens Neunte Sinfonie") and "900"; in the
lower magin "24/XII. erl. Br." all in an unknown hand, presumably a member of the UE
staff]

Dear Director!
I
1
am compelled yet again to dedicate my
book on the Ninth Symphony at my expense to a musician. The recipient's name is:
Bernhard Seidmann
, music director at the Provincial Theater,
Braunschweig
(Germany). Please would you be so kind as to arrange
for the book to be sent, and to send me a payment order for it
(from beyond the Mark etc., etc., as in previous cases).
2
Many thanks, and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
[The entire message is crossed through diagonally; in
the left margin appear "3499" (the UE number of "Beethovens Neunte Sinfonie") and "900"; in the
lower magin "Dec. 24, dealt with Br." all in an unknown hand, presumably a member of the UE
staff]
Yours very truly,
